AES NOTIFICATION LIST CHANGES The AES notification list is now distributed through the SECURE HEAB or SSL site. The next
notification list will be available on the Secure HEAB site on September 14, and again on September
28.
If you are unfamiliar with Secure HEAB, please contact Barb Moermond at 608.266.3091 or at
Barbara.moermond@heab.state.wi.us.
Previously, students who were not eligible for the award because of low or unreported grades, or
low credits, did not appear on the list. The notification list now shows all students, eligible and
ineligible, using student status codes to describe eligibility. The status codes are as follows:
A: The student is a freshman If the student has a J or K code, there will not be an award shown on the list.
The format of the notification list is as follows: If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Sherrie at
sherrie.nelson@heab.state.wi.us, or at 608.267.2944.
You most likely know that Alice Winters, Grants Specialist for the Academic Excellence Scholarship,
has retired. In the midst of this staff change-over, we have made some changes to the program,
including a revision of the notification list. I realize that we did not give you notice prior to
this change and hope it did not cause too much confusion.
B: The student is a sophomore
C: The student is a junior
D: The student is a senior
E: The student is a fifth year senior
J: The student has not met the minimum requirement of a 3.0 GPA
K: The student has not met the minimum credit requirement of at least 12 credits a semester.
