The Monthly Memo
February, 2005
In response to concerns about sending files via email, we are establishing a new process for transferring notification lists. Beginning March 1, 2005, schools will use specific user names and passwords to access your files at a Secure HEAB website. Each school will have a separate, specific file accessible only to your school. Files will be updated on the regular notification list processing dates. The files will be in the same format as those currently emailed - it’s just that you will now "come get" the files.
A user agreement will be sent to the Director of Financial Aid of each school. This agreement will specify your school’s username, and the conditions under which your files may be accessed. This agreement is similar to that used by the U.S. Department of Education for SAIG.
Financial Aid Directors will receive this hard-copy communication the week of February 14th, so please be on the lookout. More information will be sent before we switch to this process.
If you have questions or concerns, please email those to me and I will do a mass response. However, we believe that this process, in addition to being more secure, will be more convenient for all of you.
NEW HEAB WEB ADDRESS Please check our Webpage under Information for Financial Aid
Administrators for current Notification List and Voucher Processing Schedules.
It’s easier and faster to get to and give out HEAB’s webpage address. Just type in
Heab.wi.gov and you’re there! The old address will also continue to work.

2004-05 by February 15th. TG schools have requested a final reconciliation date of February 15th. The goal is to have awards on the notification list match projected spending by each institution. This will allow HEAB to determine if there will be money left to distribute to students in spring 2005. THANKS FOR CONTINUING TO CLEAN THOSE LISTS! |
