The Monthly Memo

HEAB has developed a new notification list that combines the current notification list and the three error reports. Schools in each sector have tested the list to evaluate the format and the impact it will have on current systems. After we made changes and talked with those testing, we are ready to send this to all schools. Here is the roll-out plan:

November 9 and 23:	Send all schools the new list as well as old lists in current format Have session at WASFAA to answer questions
December:	Begin using new Notification Error report exclusively. Old notification list and error reports will be eliminated. However. . .

I realize that changes from HEAB mean changes all over the state. Our testers have indicated that this new list will be easier to use and manipulate. We have had positive feedback and helpful suggestions.

Individual Training Options: To get hands-on training for the Notification/Error List and its potential uses, you can bring lap-tops to HEAB and learn on your own list. The staff here is ready to assist you and devote time specifically to your school’s staff. Please contact your grant specialist if you are interested and we’ll set up a time.

WISSIS SURVEYS
Please don’t forget to return WISSIS surveys no later than November 15. To date we have information from 6 schools. Thanks

REFUNDS
It’s critical to get refunds back in a timely manner. It’s particularly important that TG schools return funds promptly. We’re keeping close watch of funds to ensure we spend every last dime. As we are at the end of a biennium, money not spent will be returned to the state. When returning funds, please include the following:

Student first and last name
Student’s SSN
Disbursement Code (type of refund)
Your 3 digit HEAB school code
Academic year and semester of award being returned (Or HEAB voucher number)
Check number and date of check being sent back to HEAB (Not the # and date of original award check unless it’s the same check being sent back.)

Scheduled HEAB Board Meetings: February 18, 2005; April 22, 2005; July 29, 2005

The program begins at 10:00 a.m. and ends no later than 3:00 p.m. It is held at the HEAB offices at 131 W. Wilson St, Suite 902, Madison, WI. We have room for up to 6 people at each session.
