  1. I have attached copies of three news releases that recently were sent out by HEAB. They include:

Points Related to Processing:

2001-02

  1. The last regular 2001-02 notification list is scheduled to run June 11, 2002. An end of the year report will be run in early July.

  2. 2001-02 award commit and spent for WHEG and WTG are as follows:

      UW WHEG Award Commit = 134.51% (last year at this time it was 134.66%)
      UW WHEG Spent = 98.02% (last year at this time it was 98.37%)
      WTC WHEG Award Commit = 171.11% (last year at this time it was 171.43%)
      WTC WHEG Spent = 99.89% (last year at this time it was 97.61%)
      WTG Award Commit = 121.97% (last year at this time it was 120.74%)
      WTG Award Spent = 97.38% (last year at this time it was 99.26%)

    NOTE: The "W" code is currently being applied to any new WTC-WHEG applicants. Decrease in the Award Commit for the WTC-WHEG from previous months is due to carry back from 2002-03.

  3. The 2001-02 voucher (V) process began August 3, 2001. We will continue to run the 2001-02 vouchering process on Tuesday and Friday nights of each week. The last day to submit voucher requests for 2001-02 is June 14, 2002. Just a reminder that we cannot guarantee that your request can be loaded on the same day it has been received if the information arrives after 12NOON. Please keep in mind that it takes two to three business days after the vouchering process runs before checks are physically printed. So please plan accordingly. Please only voucher funds for students who are registered for coursework. Contact me if you have any questions.

  4. Please remember to submit TIP nomination forms to John Whitt.

  5. Since both 2001-02 and 2002-03 academic year requests are currently being processed, it is very important to clearly label submissions to HEAB by academic year.

2002-03

  1. 2002-03 notification lists and associated reports are scheduled to run June 4th, June 18th, and June 25th.

  2. 2002-03 award commit for WHEG and WTG is as follows:

      UW WHEG Award Commit = 82.29% (last year at this time it was 71.03%)
      WTC WHEG Award Commit = 78.70% (last year at this time it was 66.22%)
      WTG Award Commit = 93.03% (last year at this time it was 89.24%)

  3. The 2002-03 voucher (V) process began August 2, 2002.

  4. Please remember to submit TIP nomination forms to John Whitt.

  5. Beginning with the 2002-03 academic year, file maintenance will be accepted for the following items only:
      Professional Judgement changes
      Special Tuition
      Selective Service changes
      Special Circumstances
      Deletes
    If you have a situation that you believe is a special circumstance, please contact the program coordinator. ALL other changes must by made by submitting information to the federal processor. Please note that we are now accepting file maintenance for 2002-03.

  6. Since both 2001-02 and 2002-03 academic year requests are currently being processed, it is very important to clearly label submissions to HEAB by academic year.

    The program begins at 10:00 a.m. and ends no later than 3:00 p.m. It is held at the HEAB offices at 131 W. Wilson St, Suite 902, Madison, WI. We have room for up to 6 people at each session.
