Status of 1998-1999 Applicants and Programs

 

Wisconsin Higher Education Grant - WTC
WHEG - WTC has committed 131.87% ($15,584,348) of its appropriation with 16,952 awards. This is 1,249 fewer awards and 3.29% more committed than at this time last year. In 1997-98 the program had committed 128.58% of its appropriation at this time last year. The final commitment for 1997-98 was 173.88%

Wisconsin Higher Education Grant - UW
WHEG - UW has committed 119.29% ($21,467,979) of its appropriation with 20,486 awards. This is 810 fewer awards and 2.47% more committed than at this time last year. In 1997-98 the program had committed 116.82% of its appropriation at this time last year. The final commitment for 1997-98 was 137.61%.

Wisconsin Tuition Grant
WTG has committed 117.33% ($21,231,893) of its appropriation with 9,882 awards. This is 572 more awards and 8.35% more committed than at this time last year. In 1997-98 the program had committed 108.98% of its appropriation at this time last year. WTG commitment cannot exceed 122% per statutory requirement.

Status of FAFSA Filers
FAFSA filers for 1997-98 totaled 167,194. The number of filers through October 19, 1998 for 1998-99 is 189,276.
