WHEG - UW has committed 132.77% ($26,224,109) of its appropriation with 22,728 awards. This is 446
more awards and 12.57% more committed than at this time last year. In 2000-01 the program had
committed 120.20% of its appropriation at this time. The final commitment for 2000-01 was 134.83%.
Wisconsin Higher Education Grant - WTC
WHEG - WTC has committed 117.01% ($24,253,477) of its appropriation with 28,387 awards. This is
2,172 more awards and 15.45% more committed than at this time last year. Please note that "W" codes
have been implemented due to a dramatic increase in eligible applicants. In 2000-01 the program had
committed 156.18% of its appropriation at this time. The final commitment for 2000-01 was 171.72%.
Wisconsin Tuition Grant
WTG has committed 117.01% ($25,233,219) of its appropriation with 11,798 awards. This is 1,222 fewer
awards and 2.07% less committed than at this time last year. In 2000-01 the program had committed
119.12% of its appropriation at this time. The final commitment for 2000-01 was 120.86%.
Status of Applicants
The number of applicants (first-time FAFSA filers including graduate students, non-degree students
and possibly non-Wisconsin residents) through March 5,2002, for 2001-02 is 189,771. Applicants
for 2000-01 totaled 215,025.
