Wisconsin Higher Education Grant - UW
WHEG - UW has committed 119.33% ($24,997,852) of its appropriation with 22,115 awards. This is 833
more awards and 11.82% less committed than at this time last year. In 1999-00 the program had
committed 131.15% of its appropriation at this time last year. The final commitment for 1999-00 was
138.87%.
Wisconsin Higher Education Grant - WTC
WHEG - WTC has committed 153.78% ($21,990,201) of its appropriation with 25,843 awards. This is
5,276 more awards and 3.56% more committed than at this time last year. In 1999-00 the program had
committed 150.22% of its appropriation at this time. The final commitment for 1999-00 was 157.45%.
Wisconsin Tuition Grant
WTG has committed 120.03% ($27,957,751) of its appropriation with 13,008 awards. This is 2,829 more
awards and 9.38% more committed than at this time last year. In 1999-00 the program had committed
110.65% of its appropriation at this time. The final commitment for 1999-00 was 109.68%.
Status of Applicants
The number of applicants (first-time FAFSA filers including graduate students, non-degree students
and possibly non-Wisconsin residents) through February 12, 2001, for 2000-01 is 210,960. Last year
at this time there were 189,965 applicants. Applicants for 1999-2000 totaled 192,993.
