Wisconsin Higher Education Grant - WTC
WHEG - WTC has committed 152.72% ($19,020,153) of its appropriation with 20,909 awards. This is 119
fewer awards and 11.43% less committed than at this time last year. In 1998-99 the program had committed
164.15% of its appropriation at this time last year. The final commitment for 1998-99 was 169.33%
Wisconsin Higher Education Grant - UW
WHEG - UW has committed 132.05% ($24,958,383) of its appropriation with 21,429 awards. This is 992
fewer awards and 1.47% more committed than at this time last year. In 1998-99 the program had committed
130.58% of its appropriation at this time last year. The final commitment for 1998-99 was 135.54%.
Wisconsin Tuition Grant
WTG has committed 110.65% ($21,755,429) of its appropriation with 10,170 awards. This is 574 more awards
and 2.82% less committed than at this time last year. In 1998-99 the program had committed 113.47%
of its appropriation at this time last year. WTG commitment cannot exceed 122% per statutory requirement.
Status of Applicants
Applicants for 1998-99 totaled 163,305. The number of applicants through February 25, 2000 for
1999-2000 is 171,117. Last year at this time there were 162,955 applicants.
